"I haven't changed anything for you. Everything is just like before," Freda says. She takes Mia's hand and holds it tightly. Her fingers are soft and a little sweaty. She shows her the bed with the sheets from the old days. There are bears on them, throwing colourful balls through the air. There's a picture on the wall: two heads with huge eyes, smiling. When Mia imagines how Freda lives now, she thinks of spaghetti with red sauce and scabs. When Freda imagines Mia living now she thinks of black leather, lavender and glass. When Mia and Freda dance or eat chocolate kisses or hide, they ask each other why sisters always grow parallel to each other.
