Beschütz mich weiter als du schreiben kannst
Briefwechsel mit Anna Gohmert
(German for: Protect me further than you can write - letter correspondence with Anna Gohmert)

Beschütz mich weiter als du schreiben kannst is an exchange of letters by Anna Gohmert and Cy Linke about safe spaces, bodies and threats. Gohmert writes from a cis-female perspective of a care-taker, Linke from a queer non-binar trans* perspective. The correspondence takes place in the spring of 2025 and discusse political developments at the time, their experiences of survival, the boundaries of their perspectives and safe spaces, bodies and threats in literature: Can
literature be a safe space? When does literature become a threat and for whom? Is writing
luxurious because it requires temporary safe spaces? And if this is the case, how do we relate to
the discrepancies between lived experiences and the texts that can be found about shelters, bodies and threats?
As part of the Stuttgart Literature Festival, curated by Nino Haratischwili, Gohmert and Linke present their correspondence in in the form of a lecture performance.
Supported by the Stuttgart Cultural Office, the Marli Hoppe-Ritter Foundation and the LBBW Foundation.
