Lecture Performance for Annie Ernaux



This lecture performance was performed at the international conference “1974-2024: Annie Ernaux’s Years – a Global Perspective” in Edinburgh & St Andrews in October 2024. It was dedicated to Annie Ernaux. And this was the text:
The lecture performance culminated in a striptease by me for Annie Ernaux to “Wish You Were Gay”, in a night-and-fog operation choreographed by Dennis Dita Kopp. It ended with me questioning the conference, where it creates performative contradictions between itself and its content through its exclusivity and underrepresentation of marginalized perspectives.
